Gryphon subscribes to a core-satellite approach to investments.This core-satellite approach to funds management at Gryphon Asset Management enables us to deliver an optimal risk-return profile to investors.

At the core of our solutions we offer no frills, low-cost index-tracking. Benefits to investors include concise and clear mandates, lowest cost execution and no requirement to re-assess asset managers. The significant market impact cost associated with changing managers is also avoided.

Alternative Investment strategies comprise the satellite component of the approach. These funds are focussed on achieving outperformance relative to predetermined absolute returns or relative benchmarks. Benefits to investors include a targeted return profile and the payment of fees mainly on the delivery of agreed upon performance.

Funds could be managed using either one of the two approaches or ideally a combination of the two.

Our approach results in an easily understood fund profile with consistent investment performance, transparency and accountability. The result is simply a "clear benefit" to our clients.

Investment Process

Investments are made in underlying equities, bonds or cash instruments based on our assessment of inherent value and the related market price. Where market prices allow a margin of safety and we believe the investment will benefit our clients based on our view of the investment cycle into the future, additions to underlying portfolios are made, with due cognisance to risk. Where existing investments no longer offer value, disposals are made from the portfolios of our clients.
